Born and raised in Malaysia, Lillian has a long history with sports. Her parents met on the tennis court in Hong Kong. Her father, Gordon Lum Bo Wah, was a former Davis Cup player representing China in the 1920’s.  Her mother also played tennis, badminton and volleyball. 

As a teenager, Lillian was a champion track and field athlete and represented her high school in table tennis and badminton.  She started playing tennis in her 30s (USTA) and eventually discovered her love for pickleball at age 70.  Her two children, both in their 40s, are avid pickleball players and medalists with backgrounds in high school tennis.  Her grandson, now 12 (2026), started as a tennis player at age 4 and is now one of her mixed doubles partners.  

Lillian volunteers as an ambassador at Jumbo's Pickleball in Beaverton, Oregon where she helps to support senior programs and members.  

Her goals as NW Zone Director are to dedicate her time to growing senior members and USSP circuit tournaments, supporting senior wellness, fitness, and longevity through stretching, strengthening, and injury prevention.
