A USSP Tournament is a structured competition provided by the US Senior Pickleball association as a benefit to its members.  It is designed for active older adults aged 50 and above. The event features age and skill categories, which can be adjusted based on event size and attendance for fair gameplay.

This term indicates that our association acknowledges a tournament as an event connected to or generating USSP member benefits.

1. USSP membership must be current at the time of the event to enjoy benefits.
2. Members can groom their senior only USSP ratings by participating in certified events.
3. The tournament uses pickleball.com for registration, recording stats and rankings.
4. Members must create or update a profile on pickleball.com, linking their USSP member ID number to trigger USSP benefits in pickleball.com.
5. Players receive a $10.00 discount on registration fees.
6. Participants accumulate points to compete for year-end awards, with a total up to $20,000 in prizes available for the top point earners.

US Senior Pickleball (USSP) organizes or partners in a series of annual pickleball competitions, also known as tournaments. Members get access to certified benefits.

A USSP Championship at the regional, zone, or national level is an official tournament within the annual circuit.

Other tournaments may partner with USSP and offer certified benefits to USSP members, who can compete alongside nonmembers.

The circuit may offer a hybrid tournament that allows USSP members and other age groups to participate within separate tracks, simplifying management and controlling event costs.

A USSP Regional Championship refers to a certified tournament provided by the US Senior Pickleball association.  Regional Championships are more local in nature allowing for ease of access to tournament competition.  Participants must have a pickleball.com profile prior to registration. Members enjoy a $10.00 discount if their member ID is linked to their pickleball.com profile. Members may participate in multiple Regional Championships and are eligible to register for the 2026 National Championships beginning July 20, 2026.  Non-members may also compete in a regional tournament.

A USSP Zone Championship is a certified tournament run by the US Senior Pickleball association in one of its six geographical zones. Members aged 50 and above can enter any or all Zone Championships. Medal winners earn the chance to preregister July 1, 2026 to July 15, 2026 for the US Senior Pickleball National Championships, scheduled for November 30 to December 5, 2026.  Zone medalists will receive an email prior to the opening of registration with instructions on how to register for Nationals.  Members who participate in a Zone tournament may register for the 2026 National Championships beginning July 20, 2026.  Only members can compete in a Zone Championship.

USSP tournaments offer a round robin format that delivers players an opportunity for multiple games and may lead to playoffs for medal rounds. Age divisions range from 50 to 85+, organized in five-year increments by age and skill, with skill levels combined if needed. 

This is the USSP year-end signature tournament.  Players must be members in good standing through the end of the tournament.  The event provides a round robin format that allows multiple games for our players; and playoffs if necessary to get to the medal rounds.  Age divisions are 50 – 85+ grouped by five-year age brackets.  The brackets are set up as age/skill allowing our players to play against players of their own age.  Skill levels may be combined based on the number of entries.

A player must have competed in a Circuit, Regional or Zone Championship to be eligible to register and play at the 2026 USSP National Championship.  Open registration will begin on July 20, 2026 for all Regional and Zone Championship participants. Registration will open up to other Circuit Series participants beginning August 17, 2026.  

The 2026 US Senior Pickleball National Championship will occur at the Palm Creek RV Resort in Casa Grande, AZ on November 30 - December 5, 2026

Registration is $85 plus $20 for each event July / August / September

Registration is $100 plus $20 for each event October / November

USSP/SSIPA members will receive a $10 discount if the player has their USSP Membership number in their player profile in pickleball.com.
